G20 Studies Centre

Established on 28 August 2012, the G20 Studies Centre at the Lowy Institute aims to deliver analytical support towards the building of a stronger and more effective G20, and of international economic governance in general.

With its membership of the G20, and with its role as host nation in 2014, Australia has an important opportunity to contribute to the current debate over the evolving rules of the international economic game, and it has a strong interest in helping shape that debate’s results.

To contribute to this debate, the G20 Studies Centre seeks to provide an independent analytical perspective on developments in global economic governance and on the role of the G20.  To this end, the Centre will report on G20-related developments from an Australian perspective and will produce research on policy areas of key relevance to the G20’s agenda.

Funding to establish the G20 Studies Centre at the Lowy Institute for International Policy has been provided by the Australian Government.
